Changing your Desktop background is pretty simple and there are a couple of ways to do it quite easily.  You can either choose from one of the images built in to Windows or you can use your own photo or one you find on the Internt, which is what most people want.

To change your Desktop background to a photo you already have or one you found on the Internet all you have to do is right click on the photo.  When you right click it will bring up a menu about that photo.  One of the options in the menu will be "Set as Desktop Background".  Left click that option and your Desktop background will immediately be set to your new photo.  It's really that simple.

If you would like to change to one of the photos built into Windows or change how your photo is displayed you simply right click on a blank space on your computer's Desktop.  A menu about the Desktop will come up.  One of the options there (in Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10) will be "Personalize".  Left click on that and you will be taken to the place where you can change all of those settings including how that photo is displayed and even select multiple photos from the computer to automatically switch between on a schedule you set.
